EU border agency boat sinks off Megisti


March 16 (Reuters) - ⁠An EU border agency ⁠vessel sank on Monday off ‌the easternmost Greek island of Megisti, injuring four of the five ​people on board, Greek ⁠authorities said.

The ⁠boat was carrying four Estonian nationals, ⁠including ‌Estonia's ambassador to Greece, and one ⁠officer of the Hellenic Coast Guard ​assigned ‌to Frontex, the EU border ⁠agency. ​All five were pulled from the water by coast ⁠guard units and a ​passing catamaran and taken to the health centre on Kastellorizo.

The ⁠four injured passengers were later airlifted by a Greek Air Force Super Puma helicopter ​to a hospital ⁠on Rhodes. The cause of ​the incident ‌was not immediately clear.
