Europe's major supercomputing conference opens in Hamburg, Germany

BERLIN, June 22 (Xinhua) -- The International Supercomputing Conference (ISC) High Performance 2026, a major European conference and exhibition for the high-performance computing (HPC) community, opened on Monday in Hamburg, Germany.

More than 3,400 participants, including scientists, engineers, technology providers, infrastructure specialists, and policymakers, are expected to discuss the latest developments in artificial intelligence (AI), quantum technologies and supercomputing, according to a press release of the organizers.

Held under the theme "Connecting the Dots," this year's conference focuses on the systems, methods and collaborations shaping the future of supercomputing, and explores the growing role of HPC in areas including scientific discovery, AI factories, and quantum computing.

The ISC 2026 exhibition brings together 188 exhibitors from around the world, including Chinese technology companies such as Sugon, Huawei and Lenovo, according to the press release.

First held in 1986 and formerly known as the International Supercomputing Conference, ISC High Performance has been one of Europe's leading events for HPC, AI, and quantum computing professionals and organizations.
