1st LD Writethru: Drone strike causes fire at oil field in Abu Dhabi

DUBAI, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Abu Dhabi authorities are responding to a fire at the Shah oil field caused by a drone strike, the Abu Dhabi Media Office said Monday.

Emergency teams were dispatched to the site to contain the blaze and assess the situation.

No injuries have so far been reported. Officials did not provide further details on the extent of the damage.

On Feb. 28, Israel and the United States launched joint strikes on Tehran and other Iranian cities, killing former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, senior military commanders, and civilians. Iran responded with waves of missile and drone attacks on Israel and U.S. bases and assets across the Middle East.

The United Arab Emirates' Defense Ministry said Monday that Iranian missile and drone attacks have killed seven people in the country since the conflict began.
