Death toll from missile attack in Russia's Bryansk rises to 8

MOSCOW, March 13 (Xinhua) -- The death toll from a missile attack in Russia's border region of Bryansk on Tuesday has risen to eight, with 47 people injured, the region's governor Alexander Bogomaz said Friday.

The figures represent the final confirmed casualties, Bogomaz said, expressing gratitude to residents who immediately joined rescue and evacuation efforts and assisted in dealing with the aftermath of the attack.

The Russian Investigative Committee said earlier that at least eight missiles hit Bryansk during the attack, including seven UK-made Storm Shadow missiles, leaving more than 70 infrastructure facilities and vehicles damaged in the strike.
