U.S. stocks close mixed


NEW YORK, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended mixed on Friday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 48.95 points, or 0.1 percent, to 49,500.93. The S&P 500 added 3.41 points, or 0.05 percent, to 6,836.17. The Nasdaq Composite Index shed 50.48 points, or 0.22 percent, to 22,546.67.

Seven of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in green, with utilities and real estate leading the gainers by rising 2.69 percent and 1.48 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, communication services and technology led the laggards by falling 0.76 percent and 0.52 percent, respectively.
