U.S. stocks close mixed


NEW YORK, June 24 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended mixed on Wednesday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 182.06 points, or 0.35 percent, to 51,848.9. The S&P 500 sank 7.24 points, or 0.1 percent, to 7,358.22. The Nasdaq Composite Index shed 110.4 points, or 0.43 percent, to 25,476.64.

Six of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in the green, with industrials and utilities leading the gainers by rising 1.18 percent and 1.05 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, energy and technology led the laggards by dropping 1.73 percent and 0.64 percent, respectively.
