Tajikistan's public debt stands at 3.5 bln USD as of Jan. 1


DUSHANBE, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- Tajikistan's public debt stood at 3.5 billion U.S. dollars as of Jan. 1 this year, equivalent to 19.2 percent of the country's gross domestic product, Finance Minister Faiziddin Qahhorzoda said Friday.

External debt reached 3 billion dollars, while domestic debt stood at 500 million dollars, Qahhorzoda told a press conference in Dushanbe.

The minister added that 504.6 million dollars were allocated in 2025 to service external debt, including 416.3 million dollars earmarked for principal repayments and 88.3 million dollars for interest payments.
