Latvia's foreign trade turnover grew by 5.4 pct in 2025


RIGA, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Latvia's foreign trade turnover reached 42.73 billion euros (50.85 billion U.S. dollars), an increase of 5.4 percent from 2024 in current prices, according to data released Tuesday by the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB).

The total value of exported goods was 19.54 billion euros, a rise of 3.7 percent year-on-year. Imports totaled 23.19 billion euros, up 6.9 percent from the previous year.

Latvia's key export commodities in December 2025 included timber, timber products, charcoal, and electrical machinery and equipment.

The European Union (EU)'s share of Latvian exports grew by 4.2 percentage points year-on-year to 72 percent in December. Its share of imports decreased by 2.1 percentage points to 84 percent.

Latvia's main export partners in December were Lithuania, Estonia, Germany, and the United Kingdom. The top import partners were Lithuania, Poland, Germany, and Estonia. The trade balance for the month was positive with 116 partner countries and negative with 47. (1 euro = 1.19 U.S. dollars)
