ZAGREB, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) -- Croatia's annual inflation rate rose to 3.4 percent in January, making it the Eurozone country with the second-highest price growth last month, according to Croatia's Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) and the Eurostat on Wednesday.
In January, services increased by 7.2 percent year-on-year, while prices of food, beverages and tobacco rose by 3 percent. Energy prices climbed by 3.7 percent, the CBS said.
By comparison, the annual consumer price growth across the Eurozone stood at 1.7 percent in January, and only Slovakia, with an inflation of 4.2 percent, recorded higher inflation rate than Croatia last month, according to the Eurostat.
The Croatian government has said that it is helping the most vulnerable groups to reduce inflationary pressures and make their lives easier.
