2nd LD Writethru: Two dies after light aircraft crash in northwest England


LONDON, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- Greater Manchester Police said two people have died following a light aircraft crash on Tuesday in Littleborough, northwest England.

Emergency services responded to the incident at noon, and the bodies of two men were recovered upon arrival. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The plane is believed to be a Cirrus light aircraft, which had taken off earlier in the morning from Birmingham, Greater Manchester Police said.

"It is not believed there was anyone else on board, and there are no reported injuries on the ground," it added.
