RABAT, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- Passenger traffic at Morocco's airports rose to a record 36.6 million in 2025, up 11 percent from a year earlier, the Moroccan Airports Authority (ONDA) said on Friday.

Casablanca's Mohammed V Airport, the country's busiest, handled about 11 million passengers, while Marrakesh Airport followed with 10 million, reaching that level for the first time.

Passenger numbers also rose sharply at airports in Rabat, Tangier, and Agadir, increasing by 26 percent, 17 percent and 10 percent respectively year-on-year.

Separately, Morocco's tourism ministry said on Monday that the country welcomed a record 19.8 million tourists in 2025, up 14 percent from 2024.

ONDA has previously said the Africa Cup of Nations 2025, held from Dec. 21, 2025 to Jan. 18, 2026, helped drive a surge in international travel as fans, official delegations, and visitors converged on Morocco.
