1st LD: 1 dead, 1 injured in Kentucky State University shooting, suspect in custody

NEW YORK, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- One person died and another was injured Tuesday in a shooting on Kentucky State University (KSU)'s campus, and a suspect is in custody, according to local authorities.

The Frankfort Police Department reported that it responded to an active aggressor on the KSU's campus in Frankfort, the U.S. state of Kentucky, at around 3:35 p.m.

The school was put on lockdown until further notice, according to the police.

Law enforcement reportedly remains on the scene and has secured the area.
