U.S. stocks close higher


NEW YORK, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended higher on Tuesday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 664.18 points, or 1.43 percent, to 47,112.45. The S&P 500 added 60.76 points, or 0.91 percent, to 6,765.88. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased by 153.59 points, or 0.67 percent, to 23,025.59.

Eight of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in green, with health and consumer discretionary leading the gainers by rising 2.16 percent and 1.92 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, energy and utilities led the laggards by dropping 0.68 percent and 0.35 percent, respectively.
