U.S. stocks close mixed

NEW YORK, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended mixed on Friday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 273.78 points, or 0.59 percent, to 45,834.22. The S&P 500 sank 3.18 points, or 0.05 percent, to 6,584.29. The Nasdaq Composite Index rose 98.03 points, or 0.44 percent, to close at 22,141.10.
