ISLAMABAD, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- At least nine terrorists of a banned militant outfit were killed in a joint operation in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, police said on Tuesday.
Police officer Bilal Haider told media that the operation had been conducted for the past three days following intelligence confirming the presence of the terrorists in Lower Dir district of the province.
The officer said that all the terrorists were from the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and were involved in several acts of terrorism, including attacks on security forces and police.
