NEW YORK, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended mixed on Thursday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 11.01 points, or 0.02 percent, to 44,911.26. The S&P 500 added 1.96 points, or 0.03 percent, to 6,468.54. The Nasdaq Composite Index shed 2.47 points, or 0.01 percent, to close at 21,710.67.
Seven of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in red, with industrials and materials leading the laggards by falling 0.88 percent and 0.81 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, financials and health led the gainers by rising 0.55 percent and 0.5 percent, respectively.
