Crude futures settle higher

NEW YORK, July 11 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices advanced on Friday.

The West Texas Intermediate for August delivery gained 1.88 U.S. dollars, or 2.82 percent, to settle at 68.45 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for September delivery went up 1.72 dollars, or 2.51 percent, to settle at 70.36 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
