NEW YORK, June 19 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar fell in late trading on Thursday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased by 0.04 percent to 98.863 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro climbed to 1.1485 U.S. dollars from 1.1475 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound was up to 1.3458 dollars from 1.3415 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 145.48 Japanese yen, higher than 145.05 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar decreased to 0.8175 Swiss francs from 0.8191 Swiss francs, and it rose to 1.3713 Canadian dollars from 1.3695 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar fell to 9.6420 Swedish Kronor from 9.6485 Swedish Kronor.
