Crude futures settle higher

NEW YORK, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices soared on Friday.

The West Texas Intermediate for July delivery added 4.94 U.S. dollars, or 7.26 percent, to settle at 72.98 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for August delivery increased 4.87 dollars, or 7.02 percent, to settle at 74.23 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
