U.S. stocks close higher


NEW YORK, June 10 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended higher on Tuesday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 105.11 points, or 0.25 percent, to 42,866.87. The S&P 500 added 32.93 points, or 0.55 percent, to 6,038.81. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased 123.75 points, or 0.63 percent, to 19,714.99.

Ten of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in green, with energy and consumer discretionary leading the gainers by rising 1.77 percent and 1.19 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, industrials bucked the trend by losing 0.44 percent.
