Over 20 injured in Czech car-bus collision


PRAGUE, May 25 (Xinhua) -- More than 20 people were injured in a collision between a car and a bus in the eastern Czech region of Olomouc on Sunday.

The accident happened near Velky Tynec in the afternoon. The regional emergency rescue service said on the social media platform X that medical rescuers treated and transported 22 people.

The car driver sustained moderate injuries and was airlifted to the University Hospital in Olomouc, while the others suffered minor injuries, it said.

According to local media, the car driver was drunk as his breath test was positive. The bus, reportedly en route to a theater performance, was carrying about 30 passengers.

The circumstances surrounding the accident are under investigation.
