Crude futures settle higher

NEW YORK, May 16 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices advanced on Friday.

The West Texas Intermediate for June delivery gained 87 cents, or 1.41 percent, to settle at 62.49 U.S. dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for July delivery added 88 cents, or 1.36 percent, to settle at 65.41 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
