Chinese companies highlight green efforts in Serbia at conference

BELGRADE, May 16 (Xinhua) -- The environmental protection achievements of Chinese companies operating in Serbia were showcased on Friday to members of the National Assembly and local municipalities during a conference held at the Chinese Cultural Center in Belgrade.

At the event, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Marina Ragus welcomed the platform as an opportunity to emphasize the positive impact of Chinese companies on Serbia's environmental agenda. She also welcomed the insights shared by experts representing leading Chinese firms, who presented detailed data illustrating the improvements achieved through investments in environmental projects.

Ragus said that the presence of Chinese companies in Serbia has contributed to the country's "remarkable economic growth."

Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Li Ming said that China and Serbia have actively cooperated in the fields of the digital economy and green development. Over the years, within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, the two countries have steadily strengthened their partnership, particularly in advancing pollution-reduction technologies.

He also highlighted the involvement of Chinese companies in the development of renewable energy sources, such as solar power plants and wind energy projects.
