DOHA, April 8 (Xinhua) -- Qatar and Algeria signed an air transport services agreement on Tuesday to boost cooperation in civil aviation, Qatar's Ministry of Transport announced in a statement on its website.

The agreement, which was signed in Doha by the transportation ministers of both countries, allows designated carriers from Qatar and Algeria to operate an unlimited number of passenger and cargo flights between the two nations.

The two sides also discussed bilateral relations in the transportation and civil aviation sectors, along with various transport activities, and explored ways to expand cooperation.

The agreement is part of Qatar's broader efforts to enhance global connectivity through new air service accords, supporting the national carrier's expansion to new international destinations, according to the ministry.
