Chinese automaker Geely launches new EV brand in Israel

JERUSALEM, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Chinese automaker Geely officially launched its Farizon electric commercial vehicle brand in Israel on Monday at a festive event in Ariel Sharon Park near Tel Aviv.

The company will initially offer the Farizon SuperVan (SV) model in Israel through Geely's official importer, Geo Mobility.

This large space commercial model offers a range of up to 398 km and a maximum speed of 135 km/h, equipped with a battery ranging from 83 to 106 kWh, depending on the model version.

Geely Auto is a subsidiary of Geely Holding Group, an automaker based in Hangzhou, China, that has operated in over 100 countries. Geely Auto entered the Israeli market in late 2021 with the Geometry C compact crossover, which has become one of the most popular electric models in the country.

According to data released on Wednesday by the Israel Vehicle Importers Association, 13,132 Chinese electric cars were sold in Israel from January to March this year, accounting for 82.8 percent of all electric vehicles sold in the country during the period.
