LIMA (Reuters) - Peruvian President Dina Boluarte on Tuesday called for general elections to be held on April 12, 2026, saying she hoped the vote would put an end to a period of instability.

Boluarte took office in 2022 after her predecessor, former President Pedro Castillo, was removed from office. Her term ends in 2026.
