U.S. dollar ticks up

NEW YORK, March 24 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar climbed in late trading on Monday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, increased by 0.16 percent to 104.258 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro fell to 1.0806 U.S. dollars from 1.0821 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound remained unchanged from the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 150.55 Japanese yen, higher than 149.22 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar rose to 0.8833 Swiss francs from 0.8830 Swiss francs, and it dropped to 1.4315 Canadian dollars from 1.4347 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar was down to 10.0890 Swedish Kronor from 10.1178 Swedish Kronor.
