NEW YORK, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended mixed on Tuesday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 123.24 points, or 0.28 percent, to 44,593.65. The S&P 500 added 2.06 points, or 0.03 percent, to 6,068.5. The Nasdaq Composite Index shed 70.41 points, or 0.36 percent, to 19,643.86.
Eight of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in green, with consumer staples and energy leading the gainers by going up 0.91 percent and 0.76 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, consumer discretionary and health led the laggards by dropping 1.23 percent and 0.22 percent, respectively.
