U.S. dollar ticks up


NEW YORK, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar advanced in late trading on Monday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, gained 0.09 percent to 106.147 at 3:00 p.m. (2000 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro remained unchanged at 1.0555 U.S. dollars, and the British pound added to 1.2753 dollars from 1.2735 dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 151.24 Japanese yen, higher than 149.97 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar fell to 0.8787 Swiss francs from 0.8789 Swiss francs, and it was the same at 1.4159 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar decreased to 10.9181 Swedish Kronor from 10.9459 Swedish Kronor.
