U.S. average price of gasoline drops below 3 USD per gallon


HOUSTON, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- U.S. national average price of gasoline was 2.97 U.S. dollars per gallon on Monday, a level it last touched in 2021, according to a report from the oilprice.com.

The number of U.S. states that now enjoy average gas prices below 3 dollars per gallon rose to about 35, up by seven from a month ago, said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
