Diplomatic Winter Bazaar opens in Sarajevo to support children in need

SARAJEVO, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- The Diplomatic Winter Bazaar, one of the largest charity events in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), opened in Sarajevo on Saturday, bringing together exhibitors from around 40 embassies and international organizations to raise funds for children and youth in need.

The event showcased national cuisines, crafts, and unique gifts, including organic cosmetics, designer jewelry, vegan food, and craft beer. All proceeds from the bazaar will benefit humanitarian projects across BiH.

The Chinese Embassy's booth was a major attraction, offering panda toys, Chinese liquor, and fried rice. The booth raised over 6,000 KM (3,242 U.S. dollars), all of which will be donated to charity.

In 2023, the bazaar raised 270,000 KM with the help of thousands of visitors and sponsors, benefiting 26 organizations that support children in need. Organizers expect this year's event to raise similar funds, spreading hope and providing assistance to more children across the country. (1 KM = 0.54 U.S. dollar)
