Crude futures settle lower

NEW YORK, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices shot up on Monday.

The West Texas Intermediate for December delivery dropped 4.40 U.S. dollars, or 6.13 percent, to settle at 67.38 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for December delivery lost 4.63 dollars, or 6.09 percent, to settle at 71.42 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
