U.S. dollar little changed

NEW YORK, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar was almost flat in late trading on Monday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, gained 0.01 percent to 102.535 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro was down to 1.0969 U.S. dollars from 1.0973 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound declined to 1.3071 dollars from 1.3122 dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 148.11 Japanese yen, lower than 148.85 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar dropped to 0.8539 Swiss francs from 0.8585 Swiss francs, and it rose to 1.3638 Canadian dollars from 1.3575 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar fell to 10.3674 Swedish Kronor from 10.3688 Swedish Kronor.
