Crude futures settle higher

NEW YORK, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices advanced on Tuesday.

The West Texas Intermediate for October delivery increased 1.10 U.S. dollars, or 1.57 percent, to settle at 71.19 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for November delivery went up 95 cents, or 1.31 percent, to settle at 73.7 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
