Croatia Airlines celebrates 35 years with new Airbus A220-300 flight to Frankfurt

ZAGREB, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Croatia Airlines celebrated its 35th anniversary on Wednesday with the inaugural international commercial flight of its new Airbus A220-300, traveling from Zagreb to Frankfurt.

The flight commemorated the founding of Croatia's flag carrier on Aug. 7, 1989, when it was known as Zagreb Airlines, the Croatia Week reported. The airline launched its first international flight on the Zagreb-Frankfurt route in 1992, marking the start of its regular passenger services connecting Croatia with the world.

To celebrate its 35th anniversary, Croatia Airlines is offering passengers a 35-percent discount on one-way and return tickets for all domestic and international flights purchased on Wednesday, the report said.

It said the company has conducted nearly 709,000 flights and transported more than 45.8 million passengers over the past 35 years. As part of its fleet modernization project set to be completed by 2027, the Croatia Airlines has ordered 13 Airbus A220-300s and two A220-100s.
