Crude futures settle lower

NEW YORK, July 12 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices inched down on Friday.

The West Texas Intermediate for August delivery dropped 41 cents, or 0.5 percent, to settle at 82.21 U.S. dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for September delivery decreased by 37 cents, or 0.43 percent, to settle at 85.03 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
