U.S. dollar ticks up

NEW YORK, June 14 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar increased in late trading on Friday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.34 percent to 105.549 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro decreased to 1.0700 U.S. dollars from 1.0739 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound lost to 1.2682 U.S. dollars from 1.2764 U.S. dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 157.28 Japanese yen, higher than 156.90 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar dropped to 0.8903 Swiss francs from 0.8940 Swiss francs, and it fell to 1.3740 Canadian dollars from 1.3742 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar was up to 10.5256 Swedish kronor from 10.4720 Swedish kronor.
