Pakistan's anti-narcotics force seizes 178 kg of drugs


ISLAMABAD, May 29 (Xinhua) -- The anti-narcotics force of Pakistan recovered 178 kg of drugs and arrested three drug traffickers in separate operations across the country, the force said on Wednesday.

The force conducted eight operations last week and the drug traffickers were being investigated to unearth their network, it said in a statement.

About 11 kg and 3.4 kg of ice were recovered from two parcels being sent abroad from courier offices in Jhelum district in the country's east Punjab province and the southern port city of Karachi, respectively.

In another operation, 94 kg of hashish was recovered from the southwest Balochistan province.

An estimated 48 kg of hashish was recovered from the possession of an accused on the motorway near the capital city of Islamabad.

The remaining narcotics was recovered in four operations in Punjab, Balochistan and the northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
