Crude futures settle lower

NEW YORK, May 22 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices fell on Wednesday.

The West Texas Intermediate for July delivery lost 1.09 U.S. dollars, or 1.39 percent, to settle at 77.57 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for July delivery dropped 98 cents, or 1.18 percent, to settle at 81.9 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
