U.S. dollar ticks up

NEW YORK, May 10 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar increased in late trading on Friday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.07 percent to 105.302 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro lost to 1.0774 U.S. dollars from 1.0781 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound increased to 1.2528 U.S. dollars from 1.2524 U.S. dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 155.84 Japanese yen, higher than 155.45 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar added to 0.9063 Swiss francs from 0.9059 Swiss francs, and it decreased to 1.3673 Canadian dollars from 1.3677 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar dropped to 10.8377 Swedish kronor from 10.8505 Swedish kronor.
