NEW YORK, May 6 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar increased in late trading on Monday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.02 percent to 105.048 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro climbed to 1.0775 U.S. dollars from 1.0767 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound rose to 1.2568 U.S. dollars from 1.2551 U.S. dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 153.91 Japanese yen, higher than 152.94 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar increased to 0.9060 Swiss francs from 0.9050 Swiss francs, and it declined to 1.3660 Canadian dollars from 1.3682 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar dropped to 10.8071 Swedish Kronor from 10.8074 Swedish Kronor.
