F-16 fighter jet crashes in U.S. New Mexico, pilot ejected


HOUSTON, April 30 (Xinhua) -- An F-16 fighter jet crashed near Holloman Air Force Base in the U.S. state of New Mexico on Tuesday afternoon, air base officials said.

The pilot successfully ejected from the plane and was taken to a hospital for medical care, local media outlet KOAT reported, citing air base officials.

The fighter jet went down near White Sands National Park, which remains open but some areas may be closed to the public due to the emergency response, said the report.
