(Reuters) - Donald Trump is calling friends, allies and donors to seek advice on who he should pick as a vice presidential running mate as he closes in on the Republican White House nomination, according to five close allies of the former president.

Trump has yet to make a final decision, the allies said, but it is a clear sign that he is already planning for a likely general election rematch with Democratic President Joe Biden in November.
