CHICAGO, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has formally notified Boeing in a letter that it is conducting an investigation into Boeing's quality control after an in-flight blowout on Alaska Airlines 1282 last Friday.
In a statement released Thursday, FAA said the investigation will "determine if Boeing failed to ensure completed products conformed to its approved design and were in a condition for safe operation in compliance with FAA regulations."
