LOS ANGELES, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- Disasters Expo USA was kicked off Wednesday in Southern California, focusing on the leading preparation, management, and recovery solutions for natural disasters.

The two-day expo is held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Orange County of Southern California amid the U.S. National Preparedness Month, which falls on September.

The expo draws a variety of leading disaster management and response professionals, showcasing the latest tools, strategies, and insights to enhance protection for communities around the world from natural disasters.

Different regions in the United States are susceptible to varied types and frequencies of disasters, with the West Coast specifically suffering from wildfires due to extended periods of drought and high heat.

The expo offered opportunities to better prepare for hazards and improve preparedness, response, mitigation, and recovery, said the organizer.

September is the U.S. National Preparedness Month set up by the government as a one-of-a-kind campaign to enforce the importance for all citizens to be prepared for disasters and emergencies.
