Roundup: Mideast countries, regional organization offer condolences, send aid to quake-hit Morocco


CAIRO, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- Countries in the Middle East and the Arab League (AL) on Saturday expressed their condolences and pledged support to Morocco over Friday's powerful earthquake that killed more than 1,000 people and injured at least 1,204.

The AL Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit condoled with Morocco in a statement posted on social platform X, formerly known as Twitter, hoping the country will quickly overcome the crisis.
