GM U.S. sales up 19 percent in second quarter

CHICAGO, July 5 (Xinhua) -- General Motors Co. (GM) announced on Wednesday that it sold 691,978 vehicles, including 15,652 electric vehicles (EV), in the United States in the second quarter of this year, up 19 percent year on year.

The Detroit automaker reported double-digit sales growth for all brands in the second quarter. Chevrolet sales were up 17 percent, Cadillac sales up 15 percent, Buick sales up 48 percent, and GMC sales up 18 percent.
