Cameroon making efforts to eliminate malaria

YAOUNDE, April 25 (Xinhua) -- Cameroon is strengthening efforts aimed at reducing the transmission of malaria and wiping out the disease which remains highly endemic in the Central African nation, health authorities said Tuesday.

Thanks to greater efforts, the infection rate dropped from 13.5 percent in 2021 to 9.9 percent in 2022, officials said during activities to mark World Malaria Day, which falls annually on April 25, in Yaounde, the capital of Cameroon.
