BERLIN, March 27 (Xinhua) -- Nationwide strikes in Germany brought train, bus, and airplane traffic to a virtual standstill on Monday, affecting millions of travelers. Freight traffic was also heavily disturbed.
All major airports in Europe's largest economy were hit by the strikes, except for Berlin. According to the German Airports Association (ADV), some 380,000 business and private travelers were affected by canceled or severely delayed flights.
