SARAJEVO, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Renewable energy development and construction company PowerChina Resources Ltd. won the Best Foreign Investor of 2022 Award granted by the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA) of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), the Chinese Embassy in BiH said on Sunday.
According to the FIPA, the Chinese company won the award for the construction of the Ivovik wind farm near the city of Livno. The farm will have a total installed capacity of 84 megawatts.
The wind farm is the first new energy investment project by a Chinese company in BiH.
Chinese economy with resilience and potential will bring important opportunities and benefits to BiH and other countries in the world, Chinese Ambassador to BiH Ji Ping said at the recently-held award ceremony.
China is ready to further strengthen economic and trade cooperation with BiH under the Belt and Road Initiative and the cooperation mechanism between China and the Central and East European Countries (CEEC), Ji said.
The award was established ten years ago to recognize foreign investors who make outstanding contributions to BiH's social and economic development.
In 2022, 14 companies from China, Germany, Italy, Belgium and other countries received Best Foreign Investor Awards.
